Yes, I think they are very useful for many other jobs, especially those in the service industry. For example, communication skills, patience and the ability to work under pressure are essential for a receptionist, a salesperson, a tour guide, a flight attendant or a customer-service officer, because all of these jobs involve dealing directly with people and making customers feel satisfied. Therefore, learning these skills as a server can be a good preparation for many future careers.
