Speaking 1 (trang 48) – Work in pairs. Discuss the purpose and eco-friendliness of these festivals and traditions and complete the table below.

Dựa vào gợi ý đã cho ở dòng 1 (Forest Festival), ta hoàn thành hai dòng còn trống của bảng. Với mỗi lễ hội/truyền thống, ta nêu mục đích (purpose) và tính thân thiện với môi trường (eco-friendliness).

1. Forest Festival (India) *(đã cho sẵn làm mẫu)*
- To encourage every person in India to plant a tree
- To raise people's awareness about the importance of forests

2. Fish release (Tet Festival, Viet Nam)
- To say goodbye to the Kitchen Gods and send them to Heaven on carp / to welcome the Lunar New Year (một phong tục truyền thống trong dịp ông Công ông Táo 23 tháng Chạp).
- To protect the environment and preserve aquatic life / biodiversity by releasing live fish back into rivers and lakes.
- To raise people's awareness of keeping the water (rivers, lakes) clean and not littering/throwing plastic bags into the water when releasing fish → chỉ thả cá, mang túi nilông về.

3. Paléo Festival (Switzerland)
- To hold one of the biggest open-air music festivals in Europe / to entertain people and bring the community together through music.
- To promote environmental protection and sustainability: the festival uses renewable (solar) energy, recycles waste, uses reusable/biodegradable cups and plates, and encourages visitors to use public transport to reduce carbon emissions.
- To raise people's awareness of protecting the environment while enjoying music.
