1. Lead-in :(5') T : Where does a teacher work? Ss: He/She works at a school. T continues to ask and answer. - Is the life of a farmer easy or difficult? T: To understand more about the life of a famer ,today we ‘re going to learn unit 1 2. Vocabulary : - peasant (n) = farmer (n) (synonym) - (to) lead the buffalo to the field : (picture ) T: What ‘s he doing ? Ss:He’s leading the buffalo to the field. -plot of land : thua ruong (translation ) -(to) plough: cay (ruong) : turn up the soil ( What is the man doing? Ploughing.) -(to) harrow : bua (ruong) : break the soil (picture) Ex: The plot of land has been ploughed and harrowed. -(to) pump water : bom nuoc : make water move in a direction by using a machine (picture ) T : the farmer ploughs , harrows, pump water for what?

-transplanting (n) : growing rice - (to) transplant : cay ( lua) (picture) (picture and Ex) -to be content with : hai long ve : feeling happy with Ex : My son studies very well . I am content with his study. 3. Checking: R.O.R 4. Guessing information :(5') T: You are going to read the text about Mr Vy and Mrs Tuyet . They are farmers . Guess what Mr Vy does and what Mrs Tuyet does . Read the chart and tick (X) into the right column. -T give handouts. III. While- reading: 1: Guessing information:(10') T: Have SS read the text and find down the answers. Ss: read the text and check their guessing with their friends. T gives feedback. In the morning ,he ploughs and harrows his plot of land ,drinks tea and smokes tobacco during his break.

Key : In the morning -. 4.30 : the alarm goes off and Mr Vy gets up, goes down to the kitchen ,boils water for tea, drink tea ,has quickbreakfast, leads the buffalo to the field. - 5.15: leaves house - 5.30 : arrives at the field.,ploughs and harrows - 7.45 : takes a break. - 10.30 : goes home.

- 11.30 :has lunch with family. In the afternoon -2.30 : Mr Vy and Mrs Tuyet go to the field again ,repair the banks of the plot of land. He pumps water into the plot of land .She does the transplanting. -6.30 p.m : finish work. -7.00 p.m : have dinner

After dinner. - Watch T.V, go to bed. - Sometimes visit neighbours,chat with them T invites the representative of each group to stand up and present infront of class. T gives feedback.
